Arctic Pole World Record Attempt

Ian Belcher is part of a team undertaking a World First expedition to the Arctic Pole. This is otherwise known as the Northern Pole of Inaccessibility, and is defined as the furthest point from land in the centre of the Arctic Ocean. This is the last truly significant place yet to be reached by mankind.

The primary purpose of this expedition is to gather crucial data about the condition of the snow and ice covering the Arctic Ocean. This data will be used by NASA funded National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) scientists to obtain a firm understanding of the condition of the Ocean, and will help to deliver the reality of climate change to the world.
